Make a Serving Board

This playful class is a ton of fun and emphasizes the joy of exploring our creativity in a woodshop.
In a single shop session, participants will create a gorgeous serving board from a single piece of hardwood.
Design your board’s unique shape and size and even include cool, quirky surface detailing — we’ll show you how! A range of cool, inventive concepts typically flow, with participants crafting boards intended for charcuterie, cheese, brisket... even keys, phones, and wallets (hey, why not?). By this point, we’ve probably seen it all.
You’ll have a choice of hardwoods including cherry, maple, ash, and red oak (all really wonderful). We’ll guide you through the process of shaping, detailing, and finishing your board with our homemade, natural food safe beeswax.
This is a fun class for absolute beginners (and dates! and friends!) and will introduce participants to the magic of a woodshop and the beautiful objects we all can make with a little bit of ingenuity.
Participants will use a range of shop tools on this journey -- from a bandsaw, to hand saws, chisels, hand planes, drills, and homemade, food-safe finishes.
We offer it in both ‘regular’ and ‘date night’ formats, where a single ticket admits two. Great for dates and friends.
