wood carving
Carving is the meditative process of shaping, sculpting, or adding texture, engravings, and patterns to wood. It’s a means of slowing down to connect with the material through a celebration of grain and form.
Our Intro to Carving carving class introduces beginners to the material and the tools, presenting a way of working with wood that allows for warmth, character, and expression in virtually any object
Intro to Carving
make a bud vase (then a spoon?)
This class is both an introduction to carving and a project class in one. Over two sessions, learn the basics of carving (and all its wonderful tools) as we create a beautiful bud vase (or candle holder!). Perfect as a centerpiece or accent decor (and great as a gift, too). Choose from a range of beautiful wood species (ash, oak, cherry, maple, fir, and pine) and design and carve your own one-of-kind vase for buds or plants. Students who complete the first two sessions may then kick-off another project (like a spoon or a bowl) and access our woodshop to make it.
Upcoming Class Dates: April 18 + 25
